Disappointing this time around
"I have seen the IG play live many times over the last 20 years. However, at this concert, it felt like they played nothing BUT songs from the new album. I always love their shows, and leave thrilled that I went. Normally, we pick seats near an aisle so that we can get up and dance and sing and really enjoy ourselves at Brand New shows, but I spent 99% of this show sitting in my chair, with nothing to sing or dance to. I like that they always play some songs off of their latest album - if I haven't had a chance to buy the album yet, it's good to hear what's coming, and if I already have it, it's fun to sing along to songs I've just learned. This time around, however, I was really disappointed. Please, Brand New, go back to the method where you play 85% known stuff, and 15% new stuff, and not this method of playing 90% new stuff. I don't have the album yet (and honestly, wasn't loving a lot of the stuff I heard, so I'm not sure I'll buy it), so after the first three new songs, I found myself constantly wishing for a song I knew. The new songs are all downbeat, and there were just TOO MANY of them."
